Day Seven

Not much to talk about today, the last full day before we head home. Spent most of the day getting some work done - answering a bunch of emails from people who are coming to the bell festival, doing a back-and-forth with a woman who will be interviewing me for Daybreak Alberta, and other fun and exciting stuff like spreadsheets, room diagrams, etc. And this was the day I had set aside as a “holiday day”. Ah, well. At least lots of it was done outside on the back patio, enjoying the fresh air.

Jon came home from work late afternoon and broke open the seal on the compressed fruits we experimented with yesterday. The watermelon was pretty much the same as I had in that weird dish at Catch 122 a few days ago, but the star of the show were the pineapple slices marinated in spiced rum, then compressed. Wow, they were good.

We ordered pizza for dinner, which was really good.

I normally have a difficult time staying awake after a big meal and I ate myself into a proper food coma on that pizza. Zonked on the couch for awhile and woke up still so full, I didn’t really want to do anything but go back to sleep. Should’ve known better than to have those last two pieces, but they were really good!

That’s about it… thanks for coming along for the ride - and keep your eyes open this weekend for a special (but short) trip report. Super excited!
